About Spring Garden Area

Spring Garden Area Business Association works on behalf of the Area’s businesses. Their ongoing focuses include safety, beautification, events and marketing, and more.

The mission of the Spring Garden Area Business Association (SGABA) is to serve as the voice of business in the Spring Garden Area, representing member businesses to various levels of government and other key stakeholders in the community and acting with the Area’s best interests at the forefront.

The Business Improvement District provides a lead role in advocacy on important issues that affect the area in which it represents. Steeped in history and culture, Spring Garden is surrounded by many tourist attractions and landmarks. These assets in our area add to the vibrancy and uniqueness of living, shopping, working and playing on one of HRM’s most walked areas. The SGABA plays a vital role in influencing the future direction of our identity.

As the voice for business, SGABA attends functions that have impact for not just the membership within the boundary but to include those who work, live, play in the impact area. SGABA is involved with many community groups such as the recently formed OURHRM Alliance. This coalition is advocating for a greenbelt and sustainable cities within the core.
