Another start-and-stop Halifax bicycle lane could be a thing of the past! The city is holding a consultation to extend the South Park Street bicycle lane to Inglis Street. The consultation is on Monday, April 25, from 7-8:30 pm at the Central Library. The city is debating whether to leave the bike lane as-is, with just a stripe of paint separating cyclists from traffic, or making it safe and attractive to cyclists of all ages and abilities by putting the bike lane against the curb and protecting it with parked cars, the way it's done in other cities. These two options cost the same amount. We need you to show up on the 25th and tell staff loud and clear: Halifax cyclists want protected bicycle lanes. RSVP to the event on the web site to receive updates and reminders about this event.
