Mark your calendars... the 23rd Annual Chronicle Herald Holiday Parade of Lights and the 4th Annual Red Nose Run will take place Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 6:00 p.m! 

The Chronicle Herald Holiday Parade of Lights presented by Eastlink is the kick-off to the holiday season with festive floats, marching bands, dancers, and a visit from Santa Claus!

Parade entry application forms will be available for download in July 2018.

The Chronicle Herald Holiday Parade of Lights presented by Eastlink takes place in downtown Halifax. The Parade begins on Upper Water Street, south of the CFB Halifax Dockyard, and continues onto Barrington Street via the Cogswell Interchange. The Parade continues down Barrington Street and turns right onto Spring Garden Road, continuing along Spring Garden Road and turning left onto South Park Street. The Parade then turns right from South Park Street onto University Avenue, past the IWK Children's Hospital, and ends at the corner of University Avenue and Robie Street.

The total length of the Parade route is approximately 2.5 kilometres. The total time of the Parade is approximately 2 hours from start to finish.

Streets along the Parade route will experience rolling closures during the Parade. No street parking is permitted during these closures. Streets will re-open once the Parade and spectators have safely left the area. Valour Way (Parade Marshalling Area) is open to Parade participants and DND staff only, no public traffic is permitted. Robie Street between University Avenue and College Street will remain closed as Parade particpants dismount from their floats. These closures are controlled by the Halifax Regional Police.
