Cozy reading season is almost here — and there’s no better way to kick it off than at Booktoberfest 2025!

Now in its fourth year, Booktoberfest is a vibrant literary celebration hosted by the Writers’ Federation of Nova Scotia (WFNS) in partnership with Halifax Public Libraries. This annual book fair showcases the incredible talent of Nova Scotia’s literary community, with:

  • 60+ local authors selling and signing their latest books

  • 7 local publishers and literary magazines on site

  • Free creative writing workshops

  • Live author readings

  • All-day literary fun for book lovers of all ages

Browse a wide range of genres and titles by Nova Scotian writers, meet the authors, and take home signed books from your new favourite voices.
