Make Music Day 2019

Make Music Day is a free celebration of music around the world on June 21 - the Summer Solstice. Completely different from a typical music festival, Make Music Day is open to anyone who wants to take part. Every time of musician, young and old, amateur and professional, of every musical persuasion - pour into the streets, parks, plazas and porches to share their music with friends, neighbours, and strangers. It is free and open to the public.

Launched in 1982 in France, La Fête de la Musique is now held on the same day in more than 750 cities in 120 countries. Alliance Francaise has celebrated Summer Solstice and Make Music Day for the last few years, and in 2018 held the event in Halifax Public Gardens. Now is the time to make this an HRM-wide event! Join the celebration!
