Both evenings will also include a poetry gallery by Moashella Shortte, offering a reflective artistic element that complements the fashion narrative.

Though the Fabric of Our DNA series was created to honour Black excellence, it also reflects the broader diversity and inclusivity of our creative community. Designers from multiple cultural backgrounds will be showcased, celebrating fashion across Halifax and Nova Scotia as a whole.

This event also launches Mills Halifax Fashion Week (August 10–17, 2025) under the theme Sustainability in Fashion – The Norm, Not a Trend.
