Construction Mitigation

HRM is reviewing the Administrative Order respecting Construction Site Mitigation, recommendations are forthcoming to Regional Council soon, likely this month. SGABA is working with the other HRM business associations, the Canadian Federation of Independent Business, and the Construction Association of Nova Scotia to ensure any changes to the Administrative Order will mitigate the impact of construction and better support businesses. We submitted a letter to HRM staff and Councillors with our recommendations for better communication, enforcement, and advocating for compensation. These are based on the concerns we have heard from you, this letter is available below for your review.

If you have additional comments, please reach out to Sue Uteck at Sue@springgardenarea.com. You can also send correspondence to clerks@halifax.ca and to our local Councillor, Waye Mason at waye.mason@halifax.ca. This ensures your comments become part of the public record.
